The American Philosophical Society will host a book talk on February 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Benjamin Franklin Hall in Philadelphia.
Historian Andrew Diemer will discuss his new book Vigilance: The Life of William Still, Father of the Underground Railroad. William Still was an abolitionist who dedicated his life to managing a critical section of the Underground Railroad in Philadelphia (the free state directly north of the Mason-Dixon Line) and helped hundreds of people escape from slavery.
The event will be held in person and virtually. Streaming information will be available soon. Please visit the American Philosophical Society’s website for more information.
