Robert Beauregard is a professor in the Milano Graduate School of the New School in New York City where he teaches course in urban development and redevelopment. He is the author of Voices of Decline: The Postwar Fate of US Cities (Routledge, rev. ed., 2003) and the forthcoming When America Became Suburban: Postwar Urbanization and National Identity ( University of Minnesota Press) as well as co-editor of The Urban Moment: Cosmopolitan Essays on the Late Twentieth Century City and Emerging Johannesburg: Perspectives on the Post-apartheid City.
